We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Maintenance Specialist to support the AC-130 gunship located at Kirtland Air Force Base. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing a maintenance program for the 30mm and 105mm weapons systems.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting, maintenance, and training support to the USAF at Kirtland AFB.
- Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between SAIC, the Weapons Systems Integration Branch, and Kirtland AFB leadership.
- Team Management: Work independently and within a team to achieve goals, meet schedule requirements, and serve customer needs.
- Communication: Communicate effectively in oral and written form at multiple levels of management/command.
- Analysis and Prioritization: Analyze, organize, and prioritize work to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
- Training and Development: Develop and review training material, processes, and procedures.
- Research and Evaluation: Research, read, and follow Technical Orders, directives, regulations, and policies.
- Problem-Solving: Research and evaluate situations, provide viable solutions, and execute mission needs.
- Inventory Management: Manage, track, and report inventory.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and six (6) years or more of related experience; master's and four (4) years or more of experience.
- Preventative/Corrective Maintenance: Minimum six years of preventative/corrective weapons maintenance.
- Ammunition and Weapons Management: Minimum of two years ammunition and weapons management experience.
- Technical Skills: Moderate to high-level of expertise in MS Office products.
- Flexibility: Must be flexible to work multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends as needed.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
- Clearance: Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a full secret clearance.
- Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen.
- Team Development: Highly motivated to develop a team to achieve maximum effectiveness and success.
- Training and Course Development: Training and course development experience.
- Material Management: Material management - ship, receive, track, report.
- Military Experience: Military experience highly desired.
