Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Maintenance Specialist to support the AC-130 gunship located at Kirtland Air Force Base. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing a maintenance program for the 30mm and 105mm weapons systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting, maintenance, and training support to the USAF at Kirtland AFB.
  • Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between SAIC, the Weapons Systems Integration Branch, and Kirtland AFB leadership.
  • Team Management: Work independently and within a team to achieve goals, meet schedule requirements, and serve customer needs.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively in oral and written form at multiple levels of management/command.
  • Analysis and Prioritization: Analyze, organize, and prioritize work to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
  • Training and Development: Develop and review training material, processes, and procedures.
  • Research and Evaluation: Research, read, and follow Technical Orders, directives, regulations, and policies.
  • Problem-Solving: Research and evaluate situations, provide viable solutions, and execute mission needs.
  • Inventory Management: Manage, track, and report inventory.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and six (6) years or more of related experience; master's and four (4) years or more of experience.
  • Preventative/Corrective Maintenance: Minimum six years of preventative/corrective weapons maintenance.
  • Ammunition and Weapons Management: Minimum of two years ammunition and weapons management experience.
  • Technical Skills: Moderate to high-level of expertise in MS Office products.
  • Flexibility: Must be flexible to work multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends as needed.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Clearance: Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a full secret clearance.
  • Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen.
