Position Summary

Lead HVAC Systems Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC systems specialist to lead our team in maintaining and improving our commercial-grade HVAC systems. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex HVAC systems, developing and implementing plans for system modifications, and training and mentoring lower-level technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead troubleshooting and repair of complex HVAC systems
  • Develop and implement plans for system modifications
  • Train and mentor lower-level technicians
  • Design and implement preventive maintenance checklists
  • Analyze as-built blueprints to recommend system modifications
  • Research and select materials for HVAC system installation, repair, and maintenance
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement in workplace practices

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; higher education degrees in relevant fields preferred
  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience with HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of commercial and multi-zone systems
  • Possession of a current New Mexico Journeyman's Refrigeration License (JR) and EPA Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to train and mentor staff effectively
