Position Overview:
We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Senior Production Assembler to join our Manufacturing Department. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational abilities, demonstrate self-motivation, and excel in multitasking while maintaining efficiency. The Senior Production Assembler will be tasked with the precise assembly, preparation of components, and testing of a diverse range of products, utilizing the Bill of Material, schematics, and other documentation included in the traveler package. Furthermore, this role involves training team members and contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and analyze diagrams, blueprints, specifications, and work orders to ascertain material requirements and assembly directives.
  • Select and insert electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Assemble electrical or electronic systems and their supporting structures; install components, units, sub-assemblies, wiring, and casings using electric/pneumatic drivers or applicable hand tools.
  • Perform quality solder touch-ups on both leaded and lead-free assemblies, including populating PTF assemblies as necessary.
  • Assemble, install, or repair frames, mixers, computer housings, microphone stations, and heat sinks.
  • Conduct routine Quality Control inspections; identify and rectify defects or non-conformities. Inspect boards for proper assembly, including missing components, solder quality, and clipped leads.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular inventory audits.
  • Clean components and assemblies using appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment.
  • Label and tag components to ensure stock inventory can be tracked and identified.
  • Execute functional tests by reading instrument dials, scopes, and observing screens that indicate resistance, capacitance, continuity, and wave patterns or defects. Carry out routine tests on circuits, components, and electronic units according to established procedures.
  • Document the assembly process, including labor, component shortages, quality issues, and suggestions for enhancements.
  • Provide training on all products.
  • Package completed assemblies for shipment and transport them to storage areas using hoists or hand trucks.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to plan and review work activities, address production challenges, and maintain adequate supply levels.
  • Complete, review, and maintain reports on production time and component waste.
Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree.

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience with the ability to utilize appropriate hand tools for electrical, electronic, and mechanical assembly.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in soldering, both thru-hole and surface mount.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in board building.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in product testing.
Familiarity with ISO Processes and Documentation is preferred.

Computer Skills:
Ability to learn MiTek's internal computer systems.

Other Requirements:
Willingness to work overtime as needed, including before and after shifts and on weekends.

Working conditions are typical for a manufacturing environment.
