Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Building Code Inspector to join our team. As a Commercial Building Code Inspector, you will be responsible for performing building code inspections and/or plans review on residential and commercial buildings. You will also manage specific projects related to these types of code inspections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building Code Review and/or Quality Control Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of buildings to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Prepare Written and Electronic Reports: Prepare detailed reports of inspections and/or plans review, including any necessary corrections or recommendations.
  • Explain and Interpret Code and/or Quality Control Regulations: Provide clear explanations and interpretations of building codes and regulations to clients and the public.
  • Recognize, Evaluate and Properly Resolve Unique Problems or Situations: Identify and resolve complex problems or situations that may arise during inspections or plans review.
  • Maintain Effective Customer Service Relationship: Provide excellent customer service to clients and the public, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist the Inspection Management Team with Business Development: Assist the inspection management team in developing business opportunities and growing the company's presence in the market.
Requirements
  • Required State of Florida Commercial Building Inspection License: Possess a valid state of Florida commercial building inspection license in two (2) or more disciplines: Building (Structural), Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Plumbing licenses.
  • 5+ Years' Experience Performing Plan Review and/or Inspections: Have at least 5 years of experience performing plan review and/or inspections.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Education: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent education; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Valid State Driver's License with Clean Driving Record: Possess a valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
