Senior Systems Engineer


to contribute in a SAFe Agile customer environment on a significant data software initiative that addresses unique and complex challenges related to national security.

The ideal candidate excels in meticulous attention to detail, agile project management, testing, deployment, integration, and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities:


Provide technical insights throughout the complete software project lifecycle, including: Agile lifecycle, ConOps, requirements development and definition, feature estimation, oversight of system design and developer implementation, systems integration, verification, and testing (IVT), data interface integration, and operational support.

Document requirements and agile features and stories, emphasizing clear descriptions, acceptance criteria, prioritization, and test/verification methodologies and steps.

Adapt the SAFe Agile processes to align with our project needs and collaboratively plan and execute our Sprint and Program Increments using Jira with our Agile Release Train.

Assist in building or documenting discovery and automation tools to facilitate geospatial and intelligence analysis of intricate problems utilizing various data types and sources.

Create enablers and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, articulating technical concepts and ideas proficiently.

Required Skills:
5+ years of technical experience supporting custom software solutions for the intelligence community, geospatial context, and/or big data analytics
2+ years of experience using Jira with agile teams for planning roadmaps, program increments, sprints, and burndown
Demonstrated proficiency with most of these tools: Jira, Confluence, Excel
Able to succinctly capture and communicate agile metrics, including team and train velocity, lead times, and predictability using Jira reports and Microsoft Office tools
Detail-oriented
Self-starter who takes initiative and quickly comprehends tasking.
Capable of working effectively with a geographically distributed operations and development team
Communicates effectively with customers and team members in both written and oral formats
Critical thinker with proven problem-solving abilities
Must be flexible, organized, and able to grasp the big picture while focusing on mission-critical details
Willingness to work onsite 75% of the time or as needed
Willing to travel occasionally
Active TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship

Additional Skills Desired:
Familiarity with common industry configuration management, software tools, technical operations, and DevSecOps would be advantageous.
Agile mindset with experience or certifications in agile, scrum, kanban, SAFe, or scrum master techniques
Familiarity with concepts such as data visualization, data management, data integration, user interface, and databases
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment, with factory reach-back support.
Experience as a military/intelligence analyst, supporting the military/IC, or knowledge of some IC PED systems is a plus
A degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in a technical field such as Computer Science or Engineering

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility.

Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience.


The range for this position is:
$131,000 to $219,000 annually.


Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
