Job Description

Talladega College seeks a highly skilled System Infrastructure Manager to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the college's computer systems, networks, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Server Management: Install, configure, test, and maintain server, SAN, and related networking equipment.
  • Data Backup and Security: Perform all critical data backup and secure data according to established procedures.
  • Network Administration: Maintain computer networks including VPNs and routers, assist in network design and implementation, provide network support with various operating systems, and install and configure computer network equipment.
  • Network Support: Maintain network connectivity of all computer workstations, provide network support to users, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Server Maintenance: Maintain servers and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings.
  • Security and Compliance: Develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources, implement and manage disaster recovery and back-up, evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades, and monitor network to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 3-5 years' experience.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong understanding of computer network infrastructure, ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols, ability to create network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems, ability to quickly learn technologies and products using documentation and internet resources, and good analytical and problem-solving skills.
