Job Summary

As an Assistant Director, Environmental Services, you will play a crucial role in directing and overseeing the operational needs of the Housekeeping Department. You will be responsible for coordinating the tasks of the Operations Managers, serving as a liaison between administration and hospital departments, and providing the highest possible level of service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and Review Standards: Develop and review standards and work procedures for all Housekeeping staff in accordance with established policies and practices of the facility.
  • Plan Work Schedules: Plan work schedules, hours, areas of work, and job duties to ensure adequate housekeeping services are rendered to all areas.
  • Staff Management: Interview, select, hire, evaluate, and recommend termination of facility housekeeping personnel in accordance with facility standards.
  • Training and Development: Orient, train, develop, and supervise all Housekeeping staff.
  • Inspections and Evaluations: Perform regular inspections and evaluations of the facility, recommending action items as needed.
  • Staff Meetings and Communication: Conduct regular staff meetings and communicate with members of other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities.
  • Project Management: Schedule major project work, ensuring adequate staff and supplies are available.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory of housekeeping supplies.
  • Budgeting: Assist Department Director with budgets.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work history required.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of all housekeeping procedures preferred. Demonstrated progressive growth in the field of health care housekeeping facility maintenance.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong work ethic, intense drive, and initiative for quality and customer service. Excellent written and oral communication, listening, and empathy skills.
