Psychiatrist - County of Santa Barbara

The County of Santa Barbara is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Wellness Department. As a Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric diagnostic and therapeutic services in a mental health clinic and/or inpatient psychiatric facility. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement effective treatment plans, conduct individual and group psychotherapy, and administer and interpret projective tests.
Responsibilities- Conduct psychiatric examinations, make diagnoses, and prescribe therapy
- Conduct individual and group psychotherapy, administer and interpret projective tests
- Participate in staff conferences, recommending appropriate treatment approaches
- Assist in developing and organizing a program of clinic treatment
- May direct case conferences, serve as a consultant to other clinic staff, and confer with patient's relatives regarding illness and treatment
- Assist through consultation in establishing psychiatric programs and policies, cooperate with other public health and hospital personnel
- Keep medical records and prepare psychiatric reports, and testify to the Superior Court on matters concerning petitions and affidavits
- Completion of a residency training program in psychiatry and possession of a valid license as a physician and surgeon issued by the State of California
- Additional requirements for Child-Adolescent Psychiatry Specialty: completion of a residency training program in child and adolescent psychiatry
