Key Responsibilities

The essential duties and skills required for the Food Service Worker role include, but are not limited to:
  • Utilizing appropriate cleaning agents to sanitize food preparation areas.

  • Brewing coffee using commercial-grade coffee makers.
  • Setting up dining areas with necessary utensils, dishes, trays, and condiments.
  • Cleaning heavy cooking utensils such as mixing bowls and pots.
  • Conducting thorough cleaning tasks including ceilings and exhaust hoods.
  • Operating a conveyor belt dishwasher effectively.
  • Arranging cafeteria lines and steam tables with food items.
  • Clearing tables and transporting trays of dishes for extended periods.
  • Regularly sweeping and mopping high-traffic areas.
  • Moving kitchen equipment to clean areas behind and beneath them.
  • Delivering meals, including hot foods and liquids, to patients or patrons.
  • Disposing of food waste and trash appropriately.
  • Reading and comprehending written materials such as schedules.
  • Following safety protocols for hazardous materials.
  • Adhering to instructions on menus and recipes.
  • Implementing sanitation practices to prevent food spoilage.
  • Complying with safety regulations during manual tasks involving lifting and transporting food items.
  • Maintaining a quick work pace while ensuring quality.
  • Identifying health and safety hazards in the work environment.
  • Working efficiently under time constraints.
A Recruitment or Relocation Incentive may be available for exceptionally qualified candidates.

Work Schedule: Varies, including weekends and holidays, with shifts typically from early morning to evening. Full-time and part-time positions may be available.

Physical Requirements: The role requires light to moderate physical effort, with potential for heavy tasks such as cleaning large utensils and moving heavy carts. Continuous standing and walking, along with frequent bending and lifting, are necessary.
