Job Title: Inspector
Job Summary:
STV Incorporated is seeking a skilled Inspector to join our Transportation Group in New York. As an Inspector, you will be responsible for performing inspections on existing conditions, work being performed, and completed work for quality, completeness, and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections on existing conditions, work being performed, and completed work for quality, completeness, and accuracy.
- Prepare written documentation, including daily work reports, controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work.
- Review and mark plans and specifications as needed to ensure and track compliance with the work performed.
- Observe work conditions for compliance to applicable safety regulations.
- Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously; and follow through on projects to successful completion.
- Communicate with various parties on the progress of the work in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or in a related field preferred.
- 5 or more years of experience in construction supervision/inspection.
- Prior experience with rail, tunnel, structural, station preferred.
- OSHA 30 required.
- Advanced certifications preferred (NICET, ACI, etc.).
- Ability to pass a TWIC and/or SWAC Background Check at High Level.
- Valid driver's license may be required depending on site location.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken).
