Job Overview

Position: Laboratory Technician/Assistant

R C Goodwin and Associates, Inc. is seeking applications for a temporary Laboratory Technician. This role is essential for supporting our archaeological projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating and managing the post-field processing of collections, which includes checking in artifacts, cleaning, bagging, and labeling items for curation;
  • Conducting basic sorting of artifacts;
  • Organizing and digitizing field documentation;

Additional Duties May Include:

  • Photographing artifacts for inclusion in reports and publications;
  • Assisting with basic data entry tasks;
  • Performing basic identification of artifacts.

This position is based in an office/laboratory environment and requires the ability to sit and stand for extended periods. Candidates may need to lift heavy items, such as artifact boxes, and perform repetitive tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A strong interest in archaeology, especially in laboratory work;
  • A willingness to expand knowledge about archaeological practices and laboratory procedures;
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently;
  • A valid Driver's License.

This is a temporary, hourly position with a starting pay rate of $19/hour. Weekly hours will vary based on workload.
