Job Summary

The Frederick National Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Veterinary Pathology Fellow to join our team in the Laboratory Animal Sciences Program (LASP). As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented group of veterinary pathologists and researchers to advance our understanding of cancer and infectious diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct histopathological examinations of laboratory animal tissues to identify and characterize disease processes.
  • Develop and implement advanced histologic techniques, including tissue microarray construction and laser-capture microscopy.
  • Apply bioimage analysis platforms to analyze and interpret large datasets.
  • Participate in monthly lab animal pathology seminars and research meetings to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the field.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience or formal anatomic pathology training.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board-certified veterinary pathologists or board-eligible trainees.
Working Conditions
  • This position is subject to working with or having potential exposure to animal(s) and/or animal material(s).
  • This position is subject to working with or having potential exposure to infectious material, requiring medical clearance and immunizations.
