Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care services using diagnostic medical sonography. Your expertise will be essential in differentiating between normal and pathological findings, and communicating findings to physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify patients using two demographic identifiers and review physician orders for procedures to be performed.
  • Check for appropriate clinical information and expected dates, as well as procedural contraindications.
  • Perform all ultrasound procedures using independent judgment during the sonographic exam.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesizing sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to physicians.
  • Ensure imaging quality meets quality control standards and stay up-to-date with organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes.
Requirements
  • Credentialed Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Must obtain one or more of the following credentials with ARDMS: Abdomen, OBGYN, and Pediatric.
  • BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ARRT in Radiology.
  • PACS experience.
Work Environment

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work environment is a fast-paced healthcare setting with a focus on patient care and safety.
