Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, editing CNC programs, and ensuring the production of high-quality parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret advanced engineering drawings and understand design requirements.
- Determine the best possible procedures, write and prove programs, set up and operate CNC machining and/or turning centers to achieve required specifications.
- Effectively program, set up, and operate multiple CNC machining and/or turning centers producing high-quality parts.
- Monitor parts production to ensure adherence to blueprint tolerances.
- Shape, sharpen, set cutter, and adjust own tools to achieve desired print tolerance.
- Set up bore gauges and other measuring equipment.
- Inspect own work at each step to enable timely continuance and ensure quality parts.
- Offer creative/innovative machining, tooling, and fixturing improvement solutions to supervision and Engineering personnel to reduce production costs and improve quality.
- Assist management in developing quotations on potential future projects.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and understand a machine drawing.
- Ability to set required gauges in order to check parts properly.
- Advanced blueprint reading, mathematical, and technical skills.
- Ability to use standard inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.).
- Works independently with minimal supervisory direction.
- Effectively communicates with and instructs fellow employees.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
