Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including assets, liabilities, profits, and losses, as well as tax liabilities and other related financial activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform general accounting duties and other related tasks for the organization.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain and reconcile supporting amortization schedules for Fixed Assets, Goodwill, Prepaid Expenses, and ROU assets.
  • Develop and record recurring journal entries.
  • Maintain and reconcile supporting schedules for AP and Accrued Expenses.
  • Develop and record monthly journal entries.
  • Support the AP Specialist by verifying and/or completing payment of invoices through the AP process.
  • Manage company credit card transactions and accurately record expenses.
  • Manage employee expenses and work with payroll on timely reimbursements.
  • Track and manage renewals of internally used software.
  • Provide outside auditors with assistance, gathering necessary account information and documents for the annual audit.
  • Uphold company policies by following accepted practices and procedures.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and practical experience.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Experience with ConnectWise and Business Central preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
  • Ability to adhere to the EST workday schedule.
  • Ability to work proactively, independently, or as part of a team.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • At least three years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
