Job Title: Radiologic Technology Instructor

Fortis College in Smyrna, GA is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Full Time Instructor for the Radiologic Technology program. As a Radiologic Technology Instructor, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the lives and careers of our students and graduates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Radiologic Technologist courses as assigned by the Department Chair/Dean of Education.
  • Utilize unit and daily lesson plans to deliver high-quality instruction.
  • Maintain laboratory and classroom organization and cleanliness.
  • Monitor classroom and student safety and report any concerns to the appropriate manager.
  • Actively engage in retention activities, including documented communication with students and administration regarding attendance and progress.
  • Submit assigned grading and attendance documentation on deadline.
  • Provide assistance for the planning, development, and maintenance of program curriculum.
  • Work with the Department Chair/Dean of Education to resolve student concerns.
  • Provide each student with a course syllabus on the first day of class.
  • Grade tests, projects, and other assignments in a timely manner.
  • Record and maintain accurate student attendance and grade records.
  • Participate in student activities, such as serving as a club advisor if requested.
  • Complete midterm evaluations for each student halfway through the term.
  • Report the need for supplies and computer equipment to the manager.
  • Be aware of the school catalog, faculty handbook, and student handbook, and understand all procedures and expectations stated within it.
  • Participate in the evaluation of textbooks and other instructional materials.
  • Be accountable for all equipment, textbooks, instructor's manuals, software, tapes, CDs, etc. being used for the current term.
  • Submit final grades to the Registrar by the established deadline.
  • Perform end-of-the-term procedures by preparing the classroom for the next term.
  • Provide annual documentation of continuing professional growth.
  • Attend scheduled company meetings, in-service workshops, and faculty meetings, and incorporate learned concepts into classroom instruction.
  • Participate in Advisory Board activities coordinated through the Department Chair, Career Services, and the Dean of Education.
  • Adhere to and support school policies and procedures as referenced in the employee handbook, faculty handbook, and catalog.
  • Attend graduation and orientation ceremonies.
  • In case of emergency, provide a qualified, prepared substitute who must be approved by the Department Chair prior to class.
  • Perform such other duties as may be specified by the Department Chair/Dean of Education or the School President.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
Requirements:
  • Must be a Radiologic Technologist and possess a bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Must have a current registered American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • Must have current CPR certification for healthcare providers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Teaching and/or management experience in a dental program.
  • Documentation of course background in educational methodology.
