Job Opportunity

Lakeland University, a leading liberal arts institution in Wisconsin, seeks a pool of adjunct instructors to teach Computer Science courses in various formats. We invite applicants from diverse backgrounds to join our team.


Position Purpose

As an adjunct instructor, you will facilitate the teaching and learning of Computer Science courses to adult students in evening and online classes. We have immediate needs for part-time instructors to teach CPS courses during the Spring 2025 Semester and beyond.

Examples of course titles in this discipline include:

  • CPS 362 - Introduction to Data Structures
  • CPS 314 - Programming Languages
  • CPS 315 - Object-Oriented Programming I
  • CPS 323 - Computer Architecture

Instructional location options include Online, the Fox Cities, and other locations in Wisconsin. Classes are typically on weekday evenings from 6-9 pm.


Requirements

Successful candidates must hold at least a master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a relevant field. Alternatively, they must hold a master's degree in a non-relevant field and have completed at least 18 graduate credits in Computer Science or a relevant field.


Essential Functions
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Computer Science.
  • Collaborate with full-time faculty and deans to understand and implement activities that meet course learning objectives.
  • Develop and administer coursework that meets and assesses course learning objectives.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from students, colleagues, or supervisors.
  • Utilize university technology as directed.

We prefer candidates with relevant work experience in an industry related to the academic subject matter and teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
