Job Title: Instructional Design Specialist

Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking an experienced Instructional Design Specialist to join our team. As a key support to the Training Systems Developer, you will create and deploy multi-platform training content used by various employees to learn new technical skills or other job-related functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop instructional materials (PowerPoint lectures, trainees' guides, audio and video scripts, storyboards, tests, etc.) that transform technical information into professionally written, engaging instruction.
  • Identify learning objectives, performance outcomes, and evaluative strategies to deliver content, consulting with program owners and subject matter experts to identify performance gaps and content requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of education principles and distance learning concepts, graphic design, and electronic teaching techniques to determine the goals, duration, approach, and instructional media most effective for courseware and training purposes.
  • Follow ADDIE/PADDIE-M models to develop instructional design plans and final training products.
  • Identify program training gaps based on attendee feedback and engagement, program effectiveness evaluations, and process reviews.
  • Manage Q&A follow-ups, project evaluations, and communicate relevant information to internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 2 years' experience in training development and delivery, OR Associate's Degree in a related field and at least 4 years of experience, OR completion of a Military Master Training and at least 6 years' experience in curriculum development (technical nature).
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in Illustrator and/or Photoshop.
  • Experience in developing instructional design plans following ADDIE/PADDIE-M models.
  • Experience in graphic design.
Security Requirements:

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional Travel - less than 10%. If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.

Physical Requirements:

Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Communicating with others to exchange information. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
