Job Summary: As an Assistant Catering Manager, you will oversee the Catering Department, ensuring seamless operations during events. Your responsibilities will include training new staff, managing event setups, and directing temporary personnel in their daily tasks. You will guarantee excellent service to clients throughout events, focusing on setup, cleanliness, and breakdown procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all catering events to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Participate in catering operations, focusing on logistics, quality enhancement, sanitation, and facility management.
- Train catering staff in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer engagement.
- Monitor labor and food costs for each event to maintain budgetary goals.
- Communicate effectively with management, clients, and team members to foster strong relationships.
- Assist in overseeing all foodservice-related activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service, including at least 1 year in a management role.
- Experience in diverse settings such as restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, or healthcare.
- Catering experience is essential.
- Knowledge of food and catering trends with an emphasis on quality, production, sanitation, and presentation.
- Strong financial, budgeting, and accounting skills.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- ServSafe Certification is required.
