Job Summary

Antenna Research Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Senior Digital Controls Electrical Engineer to join its Antenna Positioner products business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electronic and electro-mechanical hardware, particularly in the design and implementation of control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing electronic hardware control systems for Antenna positioner products
  • Designing and implementing algorithms for control systems
  • Writing digital design drawings/specifications/ICDs
  • Post-design support and troubleshooting using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic/spectrum analyzers and other test equipment
  • Designing and implementing top-level test benches for simulating and verifying design architecture
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • Proficient at C/C++ programming and communications protocols such as BLE, I2C, UART, CAN bus
  • Experience with designing 2 and 3 Axis controls for robots or antenna positioners
  • Experience with version control tools and methods
  • Education: Electrical Engineering related field BS or higher
Preferred Skills
  • Digital hardware and software/firmware experience to MCUs (ARM), and SoC devices and their use in embedded systems
  • Designs using SPI protocols
  • Experience interfacing with IMU or accelerometer MEMS sensor
  • Working knowledge of ModelSim or equivalent simulation tool for design verification testing
  • Printed Circuit Board Assembly design and layout
