About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing firmware for real-time embedded systems, implementing digital signal processing algorithms, and integrating embedded systems with EW payloads.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop firmware for real-time embedded systems using VHDL or Verilog.
  • Implement digital signal processing algorithms for various types of communication, data link, radar, and jamming signals.
  • Integrate embedded systems with EW payloads and apply Machine Learning (ML)/Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms for EW applications.
  • Participate in field testing and demonstration of these products.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least two years of relevant experience with VHDL or Verilog, FPGA simulation, and MATLAB.
  • Relevant experience working with embedded systems and embedded programming.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • At least seven years of relevant experience working with embedded systems and embedded programming.
  • Experience implementing DSP algorithms in HDL, HLS, and/or System Generator.
  • Programming experience in C/C++ or Python.
  • Experience with high-speed FPGA design.
  • Experience with digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms.
  • RADAR, electronic warfare, or radio frequency experience.
  • Active DoD Secret level clearance.
