Reliability Engineering Director, Software Development Leader

The Customer-Centric Reliability Engineering (CCRE) organization at Salesforce, Inc. is seeking a visionary leader to spearhead its SRE division.
As VP of Software Engineering, SRE, you will be responsible for leading the growth and development of our global SRE team, comprising nearly 100 members. Your primary objective will be to craft and implement availability-focused solutions that ensure the continuous uptime of Salesforce's products and services, catering to both internal customers and their external clients.
To excel in this role, you must possess deep technical knowledge, strong software engineering leadership skills, and a customer-centric approach. Ideally, you have successfully managed and grown large-scale teams and driven significant culture transformations within your previous roles.
This transformation will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of SRE at Salesforce. As a domain authority in various SRE models, you will develop and execute the SRE strategy, driving innovation and operational excellence throughout the organization.

About the Role- Develop and execute the overall ambitious strategy for Salesforce's exceptional SRE organization.
- Lead and grow a global team of nearly 100 SRE professionals, striving to conquer the challenge of running and scaling Salesforce's platform and services.
- Hire highly skilled reliability experts with a strong software engineering background and build out specialized teams to embed with service owners and deliver against an availability backlog.
- Deeply understand the technical strategy and provide high-context guidance on customer reliability risks, ensuring accountability and tying outcomes to flagship metrics.
- Own, innovate, and develop programs, software solutions, process innovations, and analytics that drive improvements to availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Salesforce's products and services.
- Collaborate with Cloud leads from technologies up and down Salesforce's stack to guide the development of fast, reliable, and durable production systems.
- Establish strategic directions, workforce allocations, organizational structures, and tactical execution plans for reliability teams within each product group.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor and authority on the reliability of sophisticated systems, recommending and delivering infrastructure layouts to scale products while ensuring resilience and efficiency.
- Promote a broader strategy to engage deeply with software development leadership teams to deliver best-in-class reliability engineering.
- Foster innovation and new thinking to increase long-term feature velocity while meeting reliability targets.
