About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to lead our Outbound Engineering team, driving the design, development, and implementation of software solutions for complex integrations with robotics and machinery. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment and is passionate about creating scalable, high-performance systems that bridge the gap between software and hardware.

This highly sought-after position offers a competitive salary range of $172,460.00-$215,575.00 per year. The employee will shape the future of our fulfillment technology stack, mentor engineers, and ensure the delivery of innovative, reliable solutions. As a critical contributor, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align technology development with strategic business goals, directly impacting operational efficiency and company growth.

This role reports to the Engineering Manager and will be fully remote. *States Not Eligible: AK, AR, DE, KS, MS, ND, SD, WY

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Architecture and Development: Design and develop software solutions, making strategic decisions that influence our technical direction.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align technology development with business objectives, effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and contributing to a culture of excellence.
  • Problem-Solving and Innovation: Address complex technical challenges with innovative solutions, anticipating potential issues to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements:
  • At least 7 years of software development experience.
  • 2+ years acting as a technical leader.
  • Proven experience with the development, scaling, and maintenance of distributed systems.
  • Proven experience with warehouse automation or fulfillment operations machinery integration.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, architectural design, and agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work independently on complex issues.
