Job Description

At Continental, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Analyst Intern to join our team. As a Logistics Analyst Intern, you will be responsible for supporting the logistics department in warehouse and transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit transportation carrier detention and demurrage invoices and create monthly accrual files
  • Create weekly warehouse throughput forecasts
  • Track and report detention/demurrage KPIs monthly, suggest actions to alleviate risks and costs
  • Create monthly reports on overage tires to scrap
  • Compile weekly DC snapshot reports to provide top management with an overview/summary of warehousing situations
  • Weekly review of throughput volumes
  • Assist with shipping claim and freight audit processes
  • Collaborate with transportation management to find lowest total cost transportation solutions, including both sea and land freight
  • Create and update reporting on daily detention/demurrage spend
  • Identify innovative and cost-saving initiatives in the inbound transportation area
  • Minimize detention and demurrage costs for incoming products from both domestic and foreign plants
  • Track warehouse throughput daily

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a US accredited degree program for at least another 12 months and able to dedicate 12 months to this internship
  • Student working towards a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Marketing Analytics, Business Administration, Data Science, or another related field
  • Able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during normal business hours (Mon-Fri)
  • Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher
  • Able to come onsite to our Fort Mill, SC Tire HQs 3 days/week
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills and developed math skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Tableau/Power BI experience
  • Ability to work approximately 25-30 hours a week
  • Experience in logistics
