Job Summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Inpatient Occupational Therapy team. As a valuable member of our team, you will provide clinical services to our patient population, demonstrating superior patient care and outstanding communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and provide occupational therapy treatment programs for inpatients and outpatients, including evaluation, treatment, and prevention of disabilities, injuries, and conditions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including ADL, perceptual/cognitive activities, sensori-motor activities, and therapeutic craft modalities.
  • Evaluate patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and consult with other healthcare team members.
  • Fabricate and modify patient splints, including design, assessment, and monitoring.
  • Direct and train patients in the care and use of UE prosthetics, orthotic devices, and assistive and adaptive equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • NYS License or eligibility, with a requirement to obtain NYS License within one year of employment.
  • Experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist in an acute care setting is preferred.
