Job Title: Assistant Research Professor
Job Summary: The GPS and Vehicle Dynamics Laboratory at Auburn University invites applications for an Assistant Research Professor position. This is a 12-month non-tenure track faculty assignment within the Auburn University research faculty family.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and execute tasks specified in GAVLab Active Projects, including designing experiments, sensor fusion, signal processing, advising graduate and undergraduate students, and writing reports, scholarly papers, and proposals.
- Bring expertise in areas of research that complement ongoing efforts in the lab, including sensor fusion, signal processing, and autonomous vehicle dynamics and controls.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or closely related field at the time employment begins.
- Eligibility to receive a U.S. Secret Clearance.
- Strong publication record.
- Experience in digital signal processing, estimation theory, navigation.
- Knowledge and expertise in dynamics and controls, including hardware implementation.
- Good knowledge of experimental design and statistics.
- Strong programming skills (C++ and ROS experience are desired).
- A willingness to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A record of high-quality research publications in referred journals and conference proceedings.
- Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
