Job Description Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University is seeking two tenure-track assistant professors in applied and computational mathematics. Candidates with expertise in partial differential equations and data-driven computational mathematics are highly desired. The department offers a PhD program and various MS programs, including a new MS program in Data Science. With over 50 mathematicians/statisticians and more than 120 graduate students, the department provides a vibrant research environment. Auburn University is an R1 University with a strong research program in various areas, offering opportunities for interdisciplinary research and participation in multidisciplinary programs. Minimum Qualifications
An earned doctorate in Mathematics by the appointment start date is required. Successful candidates are expected to pursue independent research and teach courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Postdoctoral research experience is required. Successful candidates are expected to be able to communicate effectively in English. Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills are required. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
