Position Overview


The physician will deliver exceptional care to patients within the Neurology Medicine field at CAMC, adhering to the highest standards of medical practice and ethical conduct.

This care will be provided in suitable environments and coordinated with the existing staff at each location.

The physician will take charge of all patient care matters and will be ultimately accountable for the outcomes of each patient interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and document all necessary education, license renewals, and board recertifications.
  • Exhibit positive relations with customers, patients, and colleagues.
  • Adhere to the organization's attendance policies.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the department and institution.
  • Execute assigned duties in a cost-effective manner.
  • Comply with all departmental pay and scheduling regulations, including but not limited to: overtime, shift work, and on-call responsibilities.
  • Conduct work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Follow all relevant organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  • In matters of clinical practice, the physician will report to the Hospitalist Medical Director, collaborating with the assigned associate administrator/administrator. Employment-related issues will follow the chain of command to the President and Physician Administrator, while medical affairs will report to the CAMC VPMA and CMO.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


For positions involving direct patient contact, the employee must possess or acquire (by the end of the orientation period) the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate assessment, treatment, or care as defined by the department's identified patient demographics.

Specifically, the employee must demonstrate competency in: 1) the ability to gather and interpret information in relation to patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding the range of treatments required by patients.

Competency Statement: The employee must demonstrate competency through initial orientation and ongoing validation to independently perform tasks and additional responsibilities as outlined in the job description and the unit/department-specific competency checklist.

  • Undertake related duties as assigned.
