Role Overview

The Clinical Specimen Technician plays a vital role in the management of biological specimens, including blood and urine. Responsibilities include the receipt, verification of identification, processing, and proper storage of samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clerical and processing tasks within the laboratory.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and manage filing systems.
  • Receive shipments and ensure cleanliness of the workspace.
  • Utilize various computer information systems daily.

Qualifications

While prior knowledge of laboratory operations, medical terminology, and a background in science is preferred, it is not mandatory. Experience with computers, keyboarding, and office equipment is advantageous. Flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to work off-shifts, weekends, and holidays, is required. Attention to detail and adherence to stringent safety protocols for handling chemicals and infectious materials are essential.

This is a full-time position with a Monday to Friday schedule, including every fourth Saturday.
