Biospecimen Processing Technician Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex specimen processing and testing in a specialized laboratory area using standard operating procedures and proper safety protocols.
  • Process large volumes of specimens for multiple protocols, accurately preparing lab specimens and containers with reagents as required.
  • Maintain an efficient and well-organized laboratory, manage supplies, and assist with equipment maintenance and quality control programs.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating critical-thinking skills and the ability to tolerate multiple interruptions.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree and one year of processing experience preferred.
  • Ability to accurately read specimen labels and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be highly organized, efficient, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
