Position Overview:

As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive substation protection and control designs. Your role will involve providing technical support and coordination to ensure the successful execution of transmission substation engineering and design projects, emphasizing safety, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality outcomes.

Your expertise will be crucial in addressing complex challenges across a variety of utility substation projects, including battery energy storage systems and solar collector substations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of protection and control designs relevant to utility substations and transmission line equipment.
  • Read and interpret protection and control design packages, including one-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, panel drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Create detailed substation protection and control design drawings adhering to client standards and industry best practices.
  • Effectively interpret written specifications and translate them into precise engineering drawings.
  • Collaborate and communicate efficiently with various design disciplines to ensure project alignment.
  • Conduct site visits to provide guidance on protection and control design matters.
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of experience in CAD design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Team-oriented and customer-focused.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks while providing leadership to team members.
  • Capable of engaging with diverse individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to think creatively and logically to resolve design and development challenges.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience within the utility industry.
