Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Technician to join our team at IPEX Group of Companies. As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for supporting automated machinery and facility maintenance activities, ensuring safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping, and cost control to achieve plant goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to all departments assigned by maintenance supervision.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications with production, quality, and maintenance/engineering departments.
  • Supervise installations of electronic devices throughout the production processes and factory, ensuring conformance to specifications.
  • Conceive, design, install, start-up, and commission small/large scale automation/control improvement projects and support larger scale capital projects.
  • Keep the plant's automation operational.
  • Respond to equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • An associate degree or Military equivalent schooling/training in Engineering, Electronics, or Automation. Technical or Vocational certification in Electronics, Industrial, or Automation, Robotics.
  • Advanced knowledge in industrial electricity, electrical controls, process instrumentation, PLC programming, robotics programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Specialized technical knowledge in all fields of electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, and theoretical mechanics, DDC control theory, applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control, Automated equipment systems and tools, ControlLogix/RS Logix, Fanuc, Siemens, OSHA, and Control of Hazardous Energy procedures and regulations, Excel, Word, Robotics, CAD, or Pro E.
  • Ability and aptitude to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all automated plant equipment and diagnose operational problems in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical phases without instruction and supervision.
  • Ability to read and modify mechanical blueprints, sketches, and electrical schematic diagrams as required.
  • Must know CAD/ProE and how to modify/build mechanical prints and drawings.
Working Conditions
  • Requires a high degree of mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, reaching, twisting, bending, climbing, and lifting to 50-75 lbs.
  • Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required.
  • Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat or cold, dust, noise levels, and the use of forklift and sharp tools.
