About the Role

HTI LLC is seeking a highly skilled Equipment Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products, as well as supporting design upgrades and updates to existing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new products and product updates/upgrades to existing equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customers, suppliers, electrical engineers, manufacturing, and the service department to develop cost-effective solutions to design and manufacturing problems
  • Effectively create, modify, and maintain equipment design ideas using 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks or other transferable experience
  • Create physical prototypes of designs
  • Examine materials and manufacturing requirements to determine production costs
  • Work with other specialists, such as mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and manufacturing associates, to evaluate whether design concepts will fill needs at a reasonable cost
  • Evaluate product safety, appearance, and function to determine if a design is practical
  • Ensure industry-accepted drawing standards are maintained
  • Support engineering documentation and drawing control in accordance with company engineering standards
  • Ensure designs meet NFPA and all country and customer required agency certification standards
  • Identify opportunities for design or process improvements and participate in the planning and execution of such opportunities
  • Implement and suggest creative solutions to reduce the cost of materials, components, and labor
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Assist with equipment hazard risk assessments and FMEA processes
  • Contribute to all aspects of the business to ensure strategic and tactical business goals and objectives are met
