Clinical Pharmacist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Specialty Pharmacist to join our team at Ascension Seton Williamson. As a Clinical Specialty Pharmacist, you will be responsible for ensuring the appropriate selection, dosing, and dispensing of medication orders in specialized areas, such as nuclear medicine, oncology, and cardiology.
Key Responsibilities- Assure the accurate selection, dosing, and dispensing of medication orders in specialized areas.
- Provide guidance and support to clinical leadership and pharmacy staff.
- Review and assess medication orders to identify and prevent potential and actual drug-related problems.
- Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
- Compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients.
- Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
- Communicate with physicians and other clinicians to facilitate care.
- Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies.
- Assist with academic functions, such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
- Pharmacist credentialed from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
- PGY- residency required; PGY- Emergency Medicine or Critical Care preferred.
