We want your knowledge and expertiseJob Summary and QualificationsAs a Pharmacist you will be responsible for monitoring, evaluating and making recommendations to assure the appropriate and effective use of pharmaceuticals for patient care. You will interact patients and health care providers as appropriate to define compliance with current standard of practice as well as assure continuity of services to achieve desired patient outcomes through safe, timely, cost-effective pharmaceutical care. You will interpret medication orders and transcribe to computer systemYou will accurately and effectively provide medication therapyYou will accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticalsYou will monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug and doseYou will suggest appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic medication alternatives to medical staffYou will sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing non-formulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchanges and promote rational drug therapy selectionYou will assist with clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV to PO, renal dosing and other programs as defined by Pharmacy LeadershipYou will complete notification reports regarding medication errors and adverse drug reactionsWhat qualifications you will need:Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)One year hospital experience – preferredCurrent Pharmacist license with Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) Sterile Products (IV) Certification through the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) within 60 days of hireSt. David's Medical Center is a full-service hospital located in central Austin, Texas. This 300+ bed facility features a 24-hour emergency department, the regions largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and the internationally-renowned Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute and St. David's Neuroscience & Spine Institute. The full scope of services provided at St. David's Medical Center includes cancer care, heart and vascular care, imaging services, joint replacement and orthopedics, women's services, complex surgical services, and a Bariatric Surgery Center. The facility is home to a 60+ bed rehabilitation hospital providing both inpatient and outpatient comprehensive care.
