Job Overview

Serigor Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Center Facilities Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC.

About the Role

This is a 12-month+ contract position that requires a skilled professional to oversee the electrical, environmental, and data capacity of the data center floor in connection with its expansion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center operations and management, with experience in evaluating risks linked to potential outages affecting critical data, environmental conditions, or electrical services.

Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Monitoring: Monitor, notify, and report power or HVAC-related alerts, promptly reporting any issues that may impact the call floor operations team.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate and collaborate on maintenance or repair activities that could potentially affect call floor operations.
  • Change Request Scrutiny: Scrutinize all change requests related to upgrades or maintenance that might influence call floor operations and provide guidance to operations managers.
  • Weekly Reporting: Generate a weekly report detailing the performance of critical infrastructure.
  • Industry Best Practices: Stay abreast of industry best practices in data center and 911 center operations, identifying any existing gaps.
  • Failover Testing: Facilitate necessary failover testing on critical infrastructure and 911 applications.
  • Cybersecurity Monitoring: Monitor and report on any cybersecurity risks affecting the call floor.
  • Patch Management: Monitor and report on patch management for all servers that support the call floor.
  • Project Management: Organize, direct, and manage contract operation support functions, involving multiple, complex, and inter-related project tasks.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 16+ years of experience in progressive consulting leadership roles, providing full lifecycle services in enterprise environments.
  • 16 years of experience managing, coordinating, and establishing priorities for entire project lifecycles.
  • 15 years of experience managing complex projects.
  • 15 years of experience in public safety radio, data networks, and facilities (HVAC, power, and physical security).
  • 5 years of experience with architectural design/remediation of new/existing industrial or commercial or other complex technical projects.
  • 3 years of experience designing and deploying data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and equipment layout.
  • 3 years of experience conducting regular inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of datacenter infrastructure to identify and resolve issues.
  • 2 years of experience managing data center projects, including coordinating with vendors and contractors, tracking progress, and meeting deadlines.
Estimated Salary:

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
