Social Media Communications Coordinator

This entry-level role focuses on social media and reports to the Vice President of Communications at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC). The position collaborates with the Communications Manager to support various communication, media, and digital marketing initiatives across all GMCC departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation, execution, and assessment of the comprehensive communication strategy for the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
  • Develop and implement a social media strategy through competitive analysis, benchmarking, and audience targeting.
  • Create and manage social media calendars to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Establish and enhance Chamber profiles across various social media platforms to boost visibility and engage both members and the public.
  • Produce engaging social media content that fosters meaningful connections with external audiences while enhancing brand recognition and promoting significant Chamber events and initiatives.
  • Analyze social media metrics and insights to inform best practices.
  • Design and modify graphics and promotional materials, including event invitations, presentations, banners, and social media content.
  • Oversee website content, manage updates, and track digital advertising efforts.
  • Assist in video editing for social media and website content.
  • Manage the library of photography and video assets.
  • Compile and create content for the digital Member Handbook/Directory, published annually.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Communications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media, or Public Relations is required.
  • One to three years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in social media marketing or as a Digital Media Specialist.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to adapt to various formats and styles.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal).
  • Understanding of graphic design principles and proficiency in desktop publishing software (Adobe Illustrator, Canva, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Familiarity with marketing platforms such as HubSpot, including email creation and list management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint with the ability to design and edit presentations.
  • Competent in Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office Suite, and Zoom.
  • Basic skills in video and photography editing, along with experience in managing a YouTube channel.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong organizational and project management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Applicants must reside in the local area; this is not a remote position. Attendance at events is required, and personal transportation is necessary.
  • Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day (excluding lunch).
  • Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
