Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Control Specialist to join our team at American Cable Company.

This full-time, on-site position offers a competitive salary of $70,000+ per year, based on experience.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records, planning, and collecting data to determine costs of core business activities. This includes overseeing all accounting practices, developing and maintaining internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, and performing general accounting processes and procedures.

  • Accounting Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and oversight of the Balance Sheet and P&L along with all related financial reporting.
  • Accounting functions and analysis including A/P, A/R, travel/expense, payroll, and reporting.
  • Review and record journal entries to reflect monthly activity with attention to timely and accurate processing.

Additional Responsibilities:

Maintenance of the Cost Accounting System, inputs into quoting system, review of monthly accounting close process, and analytical review of monthly operating results.

Conducting financial analysis, budget preparation, forecasting, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing reports as needed.

Developing and maintaining budgetary controls and procedures, measuring performance against budget, and communicating variances.

Responsible for all internal and external financial reporting, direct tax and audit processes, and preparations, including managing work with external auditors.

Identifying and implementing business process improvements to support company growth.

Performing other duties as required and assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting/finance experience with progressive responsibilities.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with a manufacturing company preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of GAAP, accounting, auditing, and analytical processes.
  • Strong data-driven, analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and resolve issues.
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented, organized, motivated, and flexible.
  • Able to work independently and as a team player.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with other database and financial software, especially QuickBooks.
