About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Network Integration Specialist to join our team at Davenport University. This is a full-time, exempt position based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Job Summary

This role provides technical assistance for structured network/phone design and implementation, equipment purchasing, installation, and support. The ideal candidate will have experience managing large networks, think logically, analyze data, and process detailed information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all activities in support of geographically distributed Local Area and Wide Area Network Technology.
  • Evaluate new network systems and solutions for potential implementation into the integrated network environment.
  • Ensure compliance with network infrastructure and equipment standards through coordination with IT staff and end-user groups.
  • Develop backup and redundant strategies, document procedures, and provide periodic training to IT support personnel.
  • Install and maintain network routers/switches/phones and other network/phone equipment and applications.
  • Serve as a backup to the Customer Support Center for network/phone problems or issues.
  • Maintain high-level network security and provide overall ITS security consultation beyond network-related areas.
  • Monitor and maintain acceptable network/phone operation for University constituents (faculty, staff, and students).
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Commercial router experience desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large networks of 25 nodes or greater.
  • Demonstrated logical thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and directed in individual work assignments.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a business office environment, requiring prolonged sitting and standing. Use of personal computers and telephones may cause eye and hand strain. Some travel between locations is required, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $52,500 - $56,000 per year, depending on education and experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
