Job Summary

Kinwell is seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in Spokane Valley. As a key member of our primary care clinic, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare practitioners in providing high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and prepare them for physical examinations, including obtaining vital signs, weight, height, reviewing medications and medical history, allergies, and performing all ancillary tests required.
  • Assist physicians during examination and treatment, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Manage supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock rooms with required supplies, ensuring a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Operate and maintain autoclave machine in accordance with policy and procedures that meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Perform ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by the supervising practitioner, utilizing clinical knowledge and skills to assist in meeting patient needs.
  • Assist in surgical tray set up and injury or acute care as directed by the treating physician, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
  • Maintain lab supplies, equipment, rapid testing, and all required record keeping, ensuring compliance with CLIA regulations.
  • Dispense medications and appliances, applying bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered by the physician, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance in the center throughout the day, promoting a positive patient experience.
  • Facilitate daily huddle review of visit schedule for any patients requiring assistance from multiple care team resources or who have special needs or considerations for a successful visit.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules as outlined in training, ensuring confidentiality and patient safety.
  • Attend and participate in team huddles, center staff meetings, and ongoing training, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Perform all duties to achieve or exceed established and desired service standards, creating a delightful patient experience before, during, and after the visit.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree and 3 years' experience or 5 years' medical assisting experience in a clinic setting.
  • Washington State Medical Assistant Certified or Medical Assistant Interim certification, WA State Only.
  • Clinical competencies to perform the duties of a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).
  • Customer service skills to ensure an enjoyable and pleasant check-in, check-out, and pre- and post-appointment interaction.
  • Excellent phone communication and ability to gather history and current conditions from patients prior to appointments.
  • Skilled in operating a computer in a Windows environment utilizing Outlook, Work, and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with associates and management at all levels.
  • Independent decision-making skills and ability to influence others to resolve issues.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team or independently without supervision or direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment to handle sensitive and confidential information in a discrete and professional manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent critical thinking, flexibility, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • An interest in growing and developing skills and knowledge to be able to take on larger tasks or roles.
  • Experience using EPIC (preferred).

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors, including a candidate's geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.

National Salary Range: $46,000.00 - $69,000.00
