We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our team at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP. As a data privacy and cybersecurity attorney, you will be responsible for advising clients on data privacy matters, including data breach response and data privacy compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on data privacy matters, including data breach response and data privacy compliance
  • Develop and implement data privacy and cybersecurity strategies for clients
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to clients on data privacy and cybersecurity best practices
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement data privacy and cybersecurity policies and procedures
  • Stay up-to-date on changing data privacy and cybersecurity laws and regulations

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Valid bar license for the state in which candidate will work out of
  • Strong technological skills, including proficiency with practice management systems and portals
  • Superior research skills, including the use of online services and databases
  • Project management skills, including the ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting position static for up to one-half hour at a time
  • Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day
  • Bending and stooping occasionally, up to one-half hour per day
