Key Responsibilities
Offer expert guidance on dose assessment and dosimetry documentation. Implement ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) practices and protocols. Advise on the necessary personal protective equipment standards utilized in operations.
Provide foundational health physics support services to operations under the supervision of experienced health physicists.
Utilize established principles of radiation safety, dosimetry, and health physics instrumentation to ensure effective health physics assistance.
Collaborate as part of a team to oversee and maintain a specific segment of Health Physics Technology (HPT) services.
Essential Qualifications
Possess a solid understanding of health physics concepts, methodologies, and techniques, along with a working knowledge of associated fields.
Familiarity with the Code of Federal Regulations, DOE Orders, and ANSI standards that guide and dictate requirements for radiation protection initiatives is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
A Master's degree in health physics or a related engineering or scientific field.
Relevant technical experience in radiological controls or health physics.
