Job Summary

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) plays a vital role in ensuring patient satisfaction and efficient operations at RWJBarnabas Health. This position works closely with physicians, managers, and support staff to provide exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Check-in and Check-out: Perform patient check-in and check-out functions, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of patient information.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Answer routine questions in person and over the phone, providing excellent customer service and ensuring patient satisfaction.
  • Clerical and Administrative Tasks: Perform basic clerical functions such as copying, scanning, faxing, sorting, and distributing mail, as well as creating and maintaining health record information.
  • Insurance and Authorization: Coordinate with insurance providers and handle pre-authorizations and certifications as necessary.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to accuracy and detail, ability to multitask and work under pressure, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
