Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the functions of the Retail Accounting Division, ensuring the precise and prompt distribution of financial management reports, including both internal and external monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, forecasts, and responses to audit inquiries.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis, reconciliation, and performance reporting for the company's retail operations at the store level, pinpointing areas for enhancement, providing recommendations, and executing them as necessary.
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable Division, guaranteeing the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, vendor assessments, tax reporting (1099), and more.
  • Manage retail accounts receivable, credit card transactions and reconciliations, retail cash receipt management and application, along with fuel inventory oversight.
  • Perform intricate analyses, reconciliations, and generate insightful reports utilizing a solid understanding of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking operations.
  • Establish and uphold control systems that ensure the integrity of all systems, processes, and data.
  • Engage in various special projects and compile a range of specialized reports as required.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, management, clients, franchisees, and others in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Adhere to and comply with all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree preferred)
  • CPA certification is highly preferred
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, particularly in multi-site accounting
  • Proficient in Excel and QuickBooks
  • Strong understanding of financial report writing, debits/credits, and financial principles
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Experience in retail accounting and team management
  • Familiarity with MS Dynamics GP is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
