Kaiser Permanente is looking for a Mammography Technologist Level IV to join our dedicated team.

Position Overview

The Mammography Technologist Level IV plays a crucial role in the Imaging Services department, working under the guidance of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging. This position is responsible for conducting diagnostic imaging procedures that assist healthcare professionals in identifying diseases and injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts both specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
  • Utilizes effective communication skills to explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and cooperation.
  • Prepares and positions patients appropriately for imaging procedures.
  • Adjusts immobilization devices to capture optimal images as per physician requests.
  • Determines exposure factors based on patient specifics and adjusts imaging equipment accordingly.
  • Operates mobile radiologic equipment in various settings, including operating rooms and emergency departments.
  • Assists radiologists and qualified physicians during fluoroscopic and specialized x-ray examinations.
  • Prepares and processes images for review by radiologists or requesting physicians.
  • Maintains radiologic equipment, performing routine checks and minor repairs as necessary.
  • Implements radiation protection measures to safeguard patients and staff.
  • Trains new hires and students in imaging procedures and protocols.
  • Fulfills additional duties as required.
QualificationsBasic Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a specialty area (e.g., IR, CT, Mammography, or Quality Management) or one year with ARRT certification in that specialty.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • California Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate.
  • California Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Additional Skills:
  • ACLS certification when necessary for the role.
  • Ability to perform general diagnostic and fluoroscopic duties across all age groups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capacity to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
