Kaiser Permanente is in search of a Mammography Technologist Level IV to join our esteemed team.

Position Overview

This role is pivotal in the realm of diagnostic imaging, where the selected candidate will work under the guidance of the Imaging Services Director and the Chief of Diagnostic Imaging. The Mammography Technologist will be responsible for executing radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures that assist healthcare professionals in identifying diseases and injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
  • Utilize exceptional interpersonal skills to explain procedures to patients, alleviating their concerns and ensuring cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients effectively for imaging procedures.
  • Employ immobilization devices to capture optimal views of the specified body areas as requested by physicians.
  • Determine exposure factors based on patient specifics such as height, weight, and the body part involved.
  • Adjust equipment settings to ensure images are produced with the necessary detail and accuracy.
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in various settings, including operating rooms and emergency departments.
  • Assist radiologists and qualified physicians during fluoroscopic and specialized x-ray examinations.
  • Prepare images for evaluation by radiologists or requesting physicians.
  • Process images while ensuring proper identification and quality control standards are met.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on radiologic equipment, coordinating external repairs as needed.
  • Implement radiation protection protocols to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Provide orientation and training for new hires and students.
  • Fill in for the Supervising Radiology Technologist when necessary.
  • Undertake additional related duties as required.
QualificationsBasic Requirements:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a specialty area (e.g., IR, CT, Mammography, or Quality Management) or one year of experience with ARRT certification in that specialty.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist with Fluoroscopy and Venipuncture Certificates (California).
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Additional Requirements:
  • ACLS certification may be required based on position needs.
  • Ability to perform general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties across all age groups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capacity to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to work within a Labor Management Partnership environment.
