Position Overview

The Mammography Technologist Level IV plays a crucial role in the diagnostic imaging team, operating under the guidance of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging. This position involves performing advanced radiographic imaging procedures to assist healthcare professionals in diagnosing medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts specialized and routine diagnostic imaging procedures with precision.
  • Communicates effectively with patients to alleviate concerns and ensure cooperation during procedures.
  • Prepares and positions patients appropriately for imaging tasks.
  • Utilizes immobilization devices to achieve optimal imaging results as directed by the physician.
  • Determines exposure parameters based on patient specifics and imaging requirements.
  • Adjusts equipment settings to ensure high-quality imaging output.
  • Operates mobile imaging equipment in various clinical settings.
  • Assists radiologists and authorized physicians in advanced imaging examinations.
  • Prepares images for evaluation by radiologists or requesting physicians.
  • Processes and reviews images for quality assurance and proper identification.
  • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on imaging equipment.
  • Implements radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation of imaging procedures.
  • Trains and orients new staff and students in imaging practices.
  • Fulfills additional duties as required.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a relevant specialty, or one year with ARRT certification in that specialty.
  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • California Radiologic Technologist Certification and Fluoroscopy Certificate are required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is necessary.

Additional Requirements:

  • ACLS certification may be required based on position needs.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive diagnostic imaging tasks across various patient demographics.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to engage in a collaborative work environment.
