We are seeking a highly skilled Staff System Engineer 2: Model Based Systems Engineering to join our team at Applied Research Associates (ARA). As a key member of our systems engineering team, you will play a critical role in providing technical and program management support for various programs related to weapons development, testing, and capabilities development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering: Perform Model-Based Systems Engineering in Cameo Systems Modeler, utilizing your expertise to develop and maintain complex systems models.
  • Technical Leadership: Establish an all-digital design and validation methodology for the technical team, leveraging engineering CAD and finite element models as requirements verification methods.
  • System Design Reviews: Support system design reviews, including system requirements review, preliminary design review, critical design review, and system verification review.
  • Capability Analysis: Perform capability analysis for systems and architectures, representing these systems and architectures in a visual and written form.
  • Program Management Support: Support annual program technical reviews and programming, planning, budgeting, and execution process.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in program management working sessions and support program managers in executing day-to-day systems engineering activities.
  • Market Surveys: Conduct weapons and capability market surveys to stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
  • Contract Deliverables: Document and develop Contract Deliverables associated with System Requirements.
  • Technical Analysis: Provide technical analysis to assure compliance to system requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of systems engineering or architecture experience, with a strong background in Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Cameo Systems Modeler, experience with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and/or Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DoD Secret Clearance: Possession of a DoD Secret clearance is required for this role.
  • U.S. Citizenship: This role is restricted to U.S. persons (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the immigration and Naturalization Act).
