At Mussett Nicholas & Associates, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading electrical efforts on small to medium-sized projects, including development or modification of systems and processes, and overseeing the work of the engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in developing robust and complex electrical designs, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. You will also be responsible for managing projects, preparing and managing multiple small to medium-sized engineering projects, and providing estimates for labor, material, and other costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical efforts on small to medium-sized engineering projects.
  • Manage projects and serve as the electrical subject matter expert on assigned projects.
  • Prepare and manage multiple small to medium-sized engineering projects.
  • Provide estimates for labor, material, and other costs.
  • Perform detailed engineering studies covering complex topics and/or problems.
  • Write proposals for projects.
  • Represent the company at design and construction meetings.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior-level engineers.
  • Travel to project sites as needed to inspect and evaluate project deliverables.
  • Stay up to date on architectural, engineering, and design practices, codes, and environments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • 5+ years' experience in analyzing, designing, and planning electrical engineering systems in commercial buildings.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) Required.
  • Familiarity with and working knowledge of model codes and standards of care.
  • Proficient in preparing technical documents utilizing discipline-specific software.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and effectively work and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of design and construction specifications.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics and ability to troubleshoot failures.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance, exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, with occasional overnight travel.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must have reliable transportation to conduct client site visits.
