The Shift Supervisor is a key member of the Plastic Ingenuity team, responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of the plant during their scheduled shift. This role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Recommend staffing levels to the production manager and ensure adequate personnel are available to meet production demands.
- Train, direct, evaluate, and recommend personnel actions to ensure a high-performing team.
- Ensure the shift is operating smoothly and efficiently, with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining ISO procedures and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Provide leadership and coaching to team leaders and team members.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and investigate incidents to identify root causes.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of production records and reports.
- High school education or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of relevant manufacturing experience, with previous direct supervisory experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively engage with staff members.
- Good understanding of machine operation and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft computer programs, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Additional advanced vocational or college education focusing on mechanical concepts of operation.
- 5 years or greater experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
- Experience supporting change management efforts.
